Common Music Group Promotes Michael Seltzer to Government VP of Small business & Authorized Affairs

Universal Tunes Team has promoted veteran songs attorney Michael Seltzer to government VP of company & legal affairs and head of business transactions.
In accordance to the announcement, Seltzer oversees a group of 15 attorneys assisting shape and negotiate the company’s agreements which includes recording contracts, label ventures, label distribution, merchandise, vendors, trademark entities, brand name companions, film, Tv and theatrical productions and fairness and asset acquisitions, among the other areas. He continues to be dependent at UMG’s international headquarters in Santa Monica and will continue reporting to Jeffrey Harleston, typical counsel and government vice president of enterprise & lawful affairs.
In making the announcement, Harleston claimed, “We are exceptionally privileged to have an govt of Michael’s qualifications, practical experience and experience to present guidance, counsel and management in these crucial parts.”

Since 2016, Seltzer has served as senior vice president of small business & authorized affairs, industrial transactions. Previously, he served a related job for UMG’s East Coast labels, exactly where he oversaw the legal staff members. Prior to that, he was a senior VP for The Island Def Jam Songs Team, where he oversaw a vast range of artist, label and new media negotiations.
Earlier in his vocation, Seltzer was COO of Chris Blackwell’s Palm Photographs, the place he led the acquisition of Rykodisc and helped raise $150 million in financing, and held roles at Island Information and PolyGram Information.
