KEARNS — Police shot and killed a guy Saturday evening at his Kearns residence just after police say he threatened his spouse and children, barricaded himself inside and then fired his weapon at officers.
The incident commenced just just before 8 p.m. when Unified police responded to reports of domestic violence at a home on the 5700 block of China Clay Push.
In accordance to Unified Law enforcement Sgt. Melody Cutler, a gentleman who lived at that handle was reportedly keeping a gun to the head of his 15-year-old grandson and threatening to destroy him. When officers arrived, they read two shots fired but the man’s relatives, a female and their 4 grandchildren, was in a position to escape to a neighbor’s house.
The guy barricaded himself inside the house. A SWAT group was known as out to negotiate, Cutler claimed.
She said the guy arrived out of the residence yelling 4 distinctive occasions. On the fourth time, he pointed his gun and fired at officers, who returned hearth and killed the man.
