To Readers | The Times in Plain English

Perhaps you have noticed that the Times in Plain English is not appearing on a regular basis.

Let me explain. We set out to make it easier to read The New York Times and other newspapers. Not all the articles, but the one we thought of most interest to readers.

People from more than 100 countries took to reading us. Our idea was to be a free source of stories about people and countries. We did not accept advertising.

Now, as the editor, I have reached the limits of my ability to do the job.

Age and illness are the reasons.

From time to time we will try to publish articles that may be of interest.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to do this work. We may not have made the world a better place, but we tried to help folks be better informed.
